Could be numerous things. Some lovely ground animal nibbling on your cable, a bad amp, water in the tap (happened last year with the bad ice storm and quick melting we had here, caused a lot of trouble), splitter going bad
Thanks, that's helpful, and all certainly could happen without being obvious, I imagine. I hope it's something that's easily fixed!

And it turns out, after one family member actually watched TV for a while late last night, that the channels above 100 that do come in are pretty much not corresponding to the alleged channel number. Guess we have Cable Roulette going on.

Tech came out, and turns out we were on the wrong map. Another household in the area had a similar problem. We're apparently borderline between two maps, and must have somehow been put on the wrong one between Tuesday and Thursday
