Comcast may have changed some frequencies of channels around causing this to happen. People with cable boxes aren't going to notice cause the box is updated by Comcast right away, updates are usually done after mid-night anyways. It is usually an indication of upgrades, making more room for channels in the future. It could also be caused by other upgrades like system (cable box software updates).

I used to be able to get a bunch of the digital channels on my TV without a box with the QAM tuner. Now, not only are many of the channels gone but re-mapped to way different location.
