Sure cat6 can do gigabit but it as a 100m distance limit which you would easily run into in some of these buildings.
If your going to do it you should do it right, and do it right the first time. It will be better for everyone this way. |

join:2000-05-11 | Precisely. The logistics are the same either way, and last I checked, laser light doesn't travel well over copper. Gigabit Ethernet is dialup compared to what that little fiber can do.
