Re: do i pay too much?

TELUS is notoriously known for not properly updating the correct rate of the current package. This is also because the agents who deals with the bills are not authorized to change it unless the customer says so. Dishonest business practice.

Everyone who has at least lived in the overseas for a while will know that internet in Canada is overpriced. And you get very little value.

Regarding contracts: If you think about it hard enough, TELUS will be the one benefitting from the people who pays by contract. It's a marketing scam which can be proven by marketeers or economists. At some point, TELUS will be pressured to decrease their rate because broadband is cheap now and youtube users have increased dramatically. And don't ever listen to the people who says that bandwidth is expensive. It isn't. The expenses is primarily from how the network is setup. This is why TELUS adopted ADSL2+ over FTTH because it is much cheaper --- much cheaper than they claimed.

I agree. Not changing pricing of a **CONTRACT** without customer consent is a dishonest practice.

Different market. The same goes for almost all products in Canada being more expensive than in the USA.. New cars are a great example.

Just how much does it cost? Seeing as you don't work for any telco you must have a really good idea about the costs involved in upgrades, so please enlighten us with the facts.
