Doctor Olds : If you are opening ports (Port Forwarding to a Static LAN IP) and it is not working when tested there are three possibilities.

1] You are pointing to the wrong port or wrong LAN IP. Try the LAN IP to verify the server is running and responding.
2] Your ISP blocks the ports you are trying to use.
3] You have a Private WAN IP instead of the required Public WAN IP for Opening/Forwarding of Ports. If you do have a Private WAN IP in your Router Interface, then nothing will fix that, not even a new Modem.

[att=1]

Regards,

Doctor Olds
--
What’s the point of owning a supercar if you can’t scare yourself stupid from time to time?
<TABLE WIDTH=95% align=center border=0 CELLPADDING=4">

These are Private LAN IP Ranges

ruz322 : Hi all,

My ISP has provided me with a Clearaccess AG10 dsl modem. I'm not happy at all with this product. I login to the modem to unblock ports, which the modem tells me it does, but when I run an internet port scan, everything tells me these ports are closed. I don't trust the router I have now and I don't like it. So I am thinking about buying a 2wire modem on ebay. This should work in place of my current modem should it not? They are both PPPoe modems so I figure they will both work. Anyone have anything I need to know? Will this work?

-Russ
