Friday @ 1:32pm EST and www.netneutralityrally.ca still shows:
Net Neutrality Rally (May 27th, 2008 - Tentative date)
I assume the site is just slow to update? |

| reply to travisc Until the organisers say whether they are open to organising transportation or not, you can't predict how many people will come.
At least, if organisers were to confirm they would NOT be involved with organising transportation, then people might still be able to book the lowest available fares on public transit (bus, train, plane).
As long as there is no information at all on transportation, people are to remain in a state of limbo. |

It's now Saturday @ ~ 1:30EST and STILL the site says tentative. I must say, things have been poorly organized thus far. I hope "they" start to get going soon, as the 27th is just over 2 weeks from now.

Sadly, the hype for this has been slowly dissipating, mostly due to the large time interval/delay, and because of the constant changing of dates. People who cleared their schedules for the original dates are not certain if it is worth the effort to do so again, when once again the date might change.
Seriously - why is this still tentative? Who are the decision brokers who seemingly cannot make up their minds? Such indecision is leading towards a lack of confidence...
And as mentioned a kazillion times, no transport co-ordination = low turn out. |

What does "Book away" mean ?
What does "confirming our presence" mean ?
No offense, but you really need to spell things out for us dumb people. Do we need assigned seating on parliament hill ? |

| reply to GKC Hey if you need/want to consider via rail to get you there check out this from Icoke of course you'd have to drink/claim ur pins fast in order to get this before the deal is gone. 40% off is not a bad way to start.

Note that this is 40% off the full fare. It corresponds to the comfort super saver fares you can book right now. (whether those fares are available at last minute is another question, which is why it is so important for the organisers to state NOW whether they are contemplatic travel options or not. If not, we can at least book now and benefit from the more affordable fares. |

If you book & pay for the tickets at least 5 days in advance, there is a significant (~40%) savings off full fare. Check with VIA for details. Use their 800 #.
Buying the ticket last minute is full fare.
Hate to think how many gallons of coke for a ticket. |

| reply to GKC I bet more people would go if someone can organize buses going to there from Toronto for $10-20 per person. It's more economic and less boring than having to drive there alone. |

| More people will indicate if they are coming or not if they know whether they should wait for travel plans to be published, or if they are told that there won't be organsieed buses and people should find transportation on their own (at which point, some folks might organise something on their own).
And more people would know about this if perhaps ISPs were to send an email to all their customers about it. While Teksavvy's executives have been on the forefront of this issue, what about other ISPs that have remained suspiciously quiet ?
[speculation] Rocky and other TSI employees are very busy taking bus driving courses, and they intend to drive buses from the chatham barn to Ottawa, picking up all customers on the way there. [/speculation] |

| I'm hoping to have an idea of travel plans by end of day today, if at all possible.
Transportation for participants: I'm trying to organise a few key pick-up points for $20/person for the day.
TSI Staff: As it stands, we are entertaining closing the office on May 27th and having as many of us as possible show up in Ottawa to show our support. It means our leaving at around 2AM but we plan on doing it.
