The local hub could of lost link to the closest comcast media center for your region, or lost sat link, ip connectivity (video is routed multicast ip over fiber to hub, then its mixed in as RF).

Primarily the most concerned connections should be the cable line that comes thru the floor/wall and connects to either a splitter or directly to the cable box.

Since cable systems are considered "Closed Circuit" it means nothing should be able to interfere with the cable signals running thru the cable lines from beginning of the cable line to the end.
