| reply to Realtech23 Re: [NFL] How did your team do in the NFL Draft?
I'll tell you in 3 years. I like the Flacco choice, after hearing about his size, skills, and watching some tape. I've seen Boller get enough passes batted down to literally make me sick. Ray Rice (Rutgers RB) seems like a solid pickup. Hope that LB out of Miami is an animal. Some O-linemen too. Traded for a Raiders CB. I'm hopeful, but I think we're fooling ourselves if we think its gonna be anything other than a rebuilding project this year. But still hoping to be pain in the ass to the rest of the AFC Norris this year. Yep, I'm talkin to you Rockot .
Excited about what sounds like a total change of culture, at least on offense. Harbaugh is running a tough camp apparently (no more Billick country club atmosphere) and the O-line coach is just a total detail-oriented prick - exactly what they need. |

No need to worry about the Bungles, anyway... their perpetual journey to self-immolation continues...
But there are them Pesky Browns.... but still, they are the Browns. I actually think yinz' guys will fare better than you may think, this year, what with parity scheduling, and the Steelers drawing the toughest (stat-wise) schedule. -- "I was the bad guy once again. | Right back at ya. Yep, those Browns are talented. Winslow, Braylon Edwards, and D. Anderson. Plus Jamal inside. Defense too.
You're right, going 5-11 did help our schedule this year. Positive out of a negative there.
Watching the Youtube vids there were a lot of comparisons between Flacco and Roethlisberger, which is a helluva compliment to the kid. I like his size, arm strength, and apparently down-to-earth attitude. No airs at all. But we'll see. Don't want to rush him, I think we learned that.
Camp sounds intense under Harbaugh. Huge brawl broke out apparently. Nobody's job is secure, at least according to the coaching staff.
You guys are pretty deep at RB I think, right? I'll check the draft board, cause I forget who you picked up. I think I remember Limas Sweed's name - which is a potentially nice huge target for Ben. |

| Yup - Picked up Sweed, and a bowling ball named Rashard Mendenhall... It was a real surprise that Mendenhall was still available at the 23rd pick... I was sure that they would go for an O-lineman, but such pickings were slim by then compared to what they could gain by taking Mendenhall. With Fast Willie and Tank Mendenhall, I'm liking the one-two punch that will be available out of the back field. -- "I was the bad guy once again. I laughed at their sorrows. Ha ha ha ha ha." |

I wonder what that will do to Fast Willie with Fantasy Owners? More and more teams seem to be going to the tandem back field... that will be a problem for a lot of fantasy owners in the future. I guess the stategy will be go for the bowling balls and take the cheap TDs. One TD is as good as 60 yards, so WTF. -- "I was the bad guy once again. I laughed at their sorrows. Ha ha ha ha ha." |
