thanks for all your replies. weaseled, i tried the internet connection sharing and i still got dns failed. on the router status page, it shows that it is connected to my computer, but xbox still gives me dns failed.
my router is a cheap no name brand, so www.dd-wrt.com wont work. i guess i get to go spend more money. my mistake for not looking into this more i guess. |

| If you will try Internet connection sharing for your computer and xbox, there's no need to use the router. If your computer is wireless, then connect it to a wireless network. After connecting it to a wireless network, connect the xbox to the ethernet port of your computer then enable the Internet connection sharing on the computer. After enabling the ICS on the computer, check the IP address of the xbox, it should have an IP address of 192.168.0.xxx. Check also if you will have Gateway and DNS servers. |
