olebiker :
said by saddend :

After reading this topic:
»Re: Bell is avoiding me
and learning of whats happening, I have to give my opinion.

I hope the site owner or mods have comments about this practice that was revealed, which I never thought would happen to regular users (people who may pay) on DSLreports.

What I find amazing in that thread is that fact that Bell is using the DSLreports forums and the Sympatico Direct forum to go after regular users who post here.

This is what I find trouble-some & amazing.

In other words, once you post in the direct forum you lose any and all anoniminty and Bell is using this to go after its own customers who post in the forums.

I hate to say it, but i will since its obvious,

-People should only make a DSLreports account if they intend to never use the Direct forum feature and wish anoniminity.

From the given evidence, its clear Bell is tracking user comments and linking them to their real life info via Dslreports.

-People who post in the Direct forum, and who don't want their regular forum comments tracked by Bell should not log into their DSLreports user account. In other words they should make regular forum posts as Anon if they want anoniminity from Bell, or wish to make a review or post on their current contract offerings with out reprisals.

I have seen many people complain that Anon posts should be removed from forums. But this evidence CLEARLY shows why Anon can not be removed and should now be encouraged for all users.

It also clearly shows why people should post anon in the sympatico forum. Bell is tracking users and calling them at home because of what they say on Dslreports.

Tinfoil hat? I think not, its there for all to see.

Shouldn't this be added to the privacy policy on the Direct forum of DSLreports to make people aware? Something along the lines of:
"Posting here will allow Bell to track what you say in all the forums and can be used for contract termination if in Bells sole discretion they don't like what you say".

The person who lost their contract, Was he/she aware of the consequences related to posting in the direct forum? Did they think Bell would go after them for making a post in this forum?

I'm curious what the mods and the site owner think of this avenue Bell has taken to track its users and terminate their contracts based on what they say on DSLreports.

This clearly goes to show that posting anon on DSLreports is the way to go, since Bell is tracking its users here.

People who have paid to be premium members and who used Bells direct forum can never say what special terms they have in a review or in this forum without the possibility of now having their contract terminated.

Is this what the owners of DSLreports envisioned?

It not only surprised me to read that, but it also saddened me to see the extreme level that Bell has taken to go after its users on DSLreports who wish to speak or make a review, and the level at which Bell is using DSLreports to track what users say via its direct forum.

Anyhow, I said what I had to say.

This Bell user will remain Anon from now on.

If you don't like them why worry about what they might or might not be doing. Life is too short for that. Just move on. I left Bell completely but I have some trouble believing that they are organized enough to do what you are saying.

No regulation, no limits to greed, quasi-monopolies, high barriers of entries, no real competition, exploitation of the ignorance of the masses, unethical and self-serving practices ... its not only Bell. Look at the pharmaceutical industry or the medical profession. Do you really think that the lack of doctors in north america is a question of money ? Countries in Europe actually have an excess of doctors and they have much better healthcare systems because of it. It is all about putting in high barriers of entry and monopolies (ie limiting the numbers of doctors for example) to dissuade competition and drive up price. That is the end result of so called privatization.

Anyway the world is auto-regulating. The only problem is that the auto-regulation process can be violent at times. The excesses that we as a collective allow to go unchecked will be reigned in by ways that we cannot foresee be it natural catastrophes caused by our plundering of the environment, recession caused by our excessive greed (see the current developing one in the US and UK for proof) or just plain loss of market share because someone else will do it right in order to attract all the dissatisfied customers. Well that is if the CRTC can provide the right environment for competition to do its auto-regulation work ... wishful thinking.

trouble-some finding after readining here
