No cable or dsl high speed internet service!

I live in an area in which there is no cable or dsl internet service. I know that there are mobile broadband cards and satellite, but their service is too slow and I need at least 5Mb. How can i convince these companies to move into the area? How many people do they need to sign up. The only home phone provider is Embarq and Bright house stops service a mile away.

If you NEED at least 5mb, then you should look at bonded T1 options, however if you really don't NEED service, but would LIKE service, then T1 options are probably out of your price range, and you should adjust your mindset.

Your best bet would be call Embarq. Then ask them about dsl service in your area. Plus have others call them about dsl service.

Even if they tell you its not available in your area. Keep calling them back every couple months about it. If they get enough calls asking about dsl service. That will get them really thinking about installing it.

In our town we got both cable & dsl service available. But dsl was the first broadband available here. Right now I'm on RR broadband. Trust me I know how you feel. About not having cable or dsl service. I was in the same boat as you few years back.
