No DSL service

There is no DSL availability on my Embarq home account, and I do not know how to get them to provide the service, because from my understanding they need to install a DSLAM. Most of the people around want service, but we do not know how to ask for it in a way that they will listen. I was once told that i need a certain amount of people in a rdius of certain miles from my remote server, but i dont know where it is therfore i can not count the amount of houses. ANY ADVICE???

 Just call Embarq and ask if DSL is available. If its not available just keep calling back every couple months.

In the mean time you could do this. You could makeup some kind of a flyer about dsl and print some out. Take the flyers out and pass them out to people houses. Say something on the flyer like "If you would like to see DSL available in our area. Contact your phone company and ask about dsl service"

Its something to think about.
