[availability] service - change?

Just got notice Verizon is raising rate by $2.00 month. They have never set my speed to the 3.0 I have been paying for for the last year but havae kept it at 1.5 since fixing in house line problems.

I don't mind signing up for 1 year again but want the speed originally promised (am 10000 ft from CO) and the discounted price they are currently advertising. Also have local and long distance phone with Verizon and they are raising rates there too.

Can't get any answers on any web sites about DSL (they just want to give me FIOS) or about long distance charges. Don't like hours on the phone.

Anyone at Verizon want to discuss??

I'm not at Verizon, but lately Verizon has been doing price hikes to FiOS, not suprised that it's happening to DSL. On Verizon's website when I got DSL 3 years ago, the price was only $15, and it's what I've been paying and am still paying. Now, on Verizon website, I see that DSL is like $18, while the 3Mbps speed is oddly enough still the same...

Otherwise, care to post up your line stats? If they are good, we could get the people over at the Verizon Direct forum here to get you your 3Mbps.

Post your line stats and someone here could probably give you some more information. I would do this and if you're sure they have not provisioned your line to the 3mb speed then I'd call them.

As for the $2 increase, you may want to browse this thread - »Is it Verizon's policy to annoy their best customers?

I got the same email. I called and they simply said I would not be getting an increase. No real explanation why, but I assume that late last year I must have locked in on the price for life thing.

When my rate went up $2, I called for a 1 year contract. The $2 increase was for Yahoo, I dropped Yahoo.

Does this work for my line stats?
I'll check out the thread on annoyance behavior.

I was talking about your line stats, like margin, attenuation, etc. Log into your modem if you can and get those stats.

I've been paying $15 for DSL for almost 2 years. They just raised my rate $5 this week. I decided to sign up for 3MB service for $30 until I upgrade to FIOS.
