AT&T DSL Down; no help from AT&T

laferri2 : I have had my AT&T DSL up and running since January, I have a "3" Mbps dry-loop connection in Michigan, on a Motorola MSTATEA. It goes down intermittently, but generally works well. I use a Windows vista laptop behind a wireless D-link router.

Today at about 11pm it went down completely, after having worked well in the same setup for quite some time. The DSL light gives a blinky red. I called AT&T and apparently my line is working fine and they insist the problem is on my end; the only advice they gave me for solving the problem was to remove my CAT5 and phone wires, flip them around, and plug them back in. They told me I would have to have a tech come out and check the line, but the soonest I can have a tech come out is Wednesday, and it seems pointless as I am certain the problem is not on my end. So I am looking at a week til my tech appointment and then another week until they actually fix the problem.

I am really concerned about this as I am a college student and have online classes and homework assignments. I would appreciate any advice that any knowledgeable folks or AT&T guys can give.

One interesting note: Sometimes when I unplug my telephone line from the DSL and plug it back in, the DSL light starts blinking green like it is getting information and then immediately goes back to red.
