1 edit | Ebay scams
I put my first item up for sale on Ebay yesterday and I've gotten about 10 scam messages telling me they're going to buy my item for an insane amount and to send it to Nigeria... --- I am Dr.FRANK SMITH regarding your advert on ebay, which i happened to be very much interested in and i would like to purchase the item for $2,900 US DOLLARS with an additional $100 US DOLLARS as shipping fee.I want you to get back to me today if the offer is fine with you.I want the item to be shipped through USPS.I will prefer the safest means of Money Order for the payment and this will be processed through TRAVELEX MONEY ORDER and delivered to your contact address.Get back to me with your Price, your Full Name,Address,City, State,Phone number, Country and your Personal Email Address.Once i receive this information,i will go ahead with the payment right away.I want to know how many of this item you have. You can also send your information to my personal email address or discuss through the messenger at(franksmithly@yahoo.com or franksmithly@hotmail.com)!Thank you for your anticipated co-operation. ---
These Nigerians are a bunch of scum.
ETA: I just got a scam email from "Paypal". More like reviewdept@accountant.com.
I didn't think Ebay would be this bad. |

Nigerians don't have a lock on scamming, though so be careful. -- This post printed on 100% recycled bytes |

| reply to 58483323 It's gotten to the point now that Ebay has seen the writing on the wall. I refuse to do business with any company that cannot control it's own website and as a result, I don't expect Ebay to be around much longer. If you still believe in them, there's almost no way to keep from getting scammed or tricked, even if you do follow Ebay's recommendations on scam avoidance. There are people out there who believe everything they read (must have never read the National Enquirer) and these are the people the scammers want to meet. |

And, just what exactly does a phishing scam have to do with the ebay website? -- Think outside the fox...Seamonkey |
