Re: Blast! Available in East Chicago, IN

Nah. That's 8/2 with Powerboost:

d11_m_ [******] _stpwboost_c01.cm = (8/2) [Name of tier not yet known]

These are the Blast config files:

d11_m_ [*******] _speedtierextreme_c01.cm = (16/1) [Blast 1]

d11_m_ [*******] _speedtierextreme2_c01.cm = (16/2) [Blast 2]

******* [denotes modem model #]

Re: 8/2 with Powerboost in Elkhart, IN

I moved your post out of the Blast topic. It should have been posted here ---> »Post about PowerBoost and other speed increases here

See the title of the topic where it should have been posted. If you are not certain you have Blast, please don't post in that topic.

From the first post in the Blast topic:

How can I show confirmation I have the Blast! tier?

Show a screenshot of an actual download and then an upload of about 100 MB of a much larger file which demonstrates that you do have the new speeds, sustained and not just an initial burst like PowerBoost.

Show a screenshot of a letter or email you received which confirms the new speed tier is available to you in your area.

Post a screenshot of a scan of a Comcast invoice which shows you have the Blast! tier on your account. (Be sure to obscure personal identification information.)

If you have a Motorola Surfboard 5120 modem, this post will explain how to confirm you have the Blast! tier via your modem logs. Some older Linksys modems will show the name of the config file in their diagnostic pages as well. Show us the screenshot, please.

Newer Linksys modems, such as Model BEFCMU10, Version 4 will show the caps on your connection. Go to the connection link via »192.168.100.1 and look at the provision rates for both downstream and upstream channels, as shown in this post. Upload a screenshot.

The various java and flash speed tests cannot confirm Blast! tier because they don't test download/upload past the bursts of PowerBoost.
