| [Cable] Such thing as wireless digital cable?
We recently just moved into an apartment that has the cable (we have Time Warner digital) jack in a bad place for our entertainment center. We were not allowed the option to have another jack (or whatever they are called) installed in a better spot.
So, instead of having to have the cable lay across the floor, I was wondering if there is a product out that allows you to place a box or something to where the cable comes from and another device/receiver on the back of your cable box that is connected to the tv so that there isn't the need for the cable wire at all.
I hope I made sense.
Is there something available to achieve this and how much money are we talking if so? Thanks for any help |

| Now, do I need both products? I see the second link says it is compatible with the leap frog ones.
Oh wait, if I am reading this right, this will just transmit it from one tv to another? We just have one tv and just looking to be able to have the tv and cable box on our entertainment center without the cable cord stretch across the room for my son to get tangled up in and to keep cords off the floor and walls |

Yes called micrco calbe often, but usually not over about 30 channels or so, and use area available microwave channels, but still requires ann outdoor MW antenna, will not work through walls, and because of limited channels many have failed.
Edit... OOPS Misread... yes there are a number of Aud/Vid relay devices... some with built in IR remote relay as well. Most are SD only... might be an HD one out now, but don't think so.
X-10 and Radio Shack are two I know of off the top of my head. Beware though they operate on the same frequencies as WI-FI and cordless phones so you could have issues there, and a Microwave oven near by the receiver can screw them up too since they are such low power (not that the oven is leaking excessively necessarily but close in frequency if 2Ghz)) -- »haywardm.com (Hayward's Key West)

Generally you get a tran/rec pair and can buy additional recs.
Oh an no, none I know are digital it will be analog A/V or maybe SVid quality, unless maybe there is an HD one out there now. -- »haywardm.com (Hayward's Key West)

There is apparently an HDMI wireless extender on the horizon. Sure someone is working on it but still a dream... AV or S/Vid quality is the reality at present, if you want that functionality. (though with stereo sound X-10 any ways)
And likely next gen DISH dual DVR's maybe will even have ATSC modlators... so HD in both locations, just a question of demand, still far to many with Analog sets and early HD's without ATSC tuners... but after Feb 2009 and they have the excuse.... well maybe... and analog converter you can add, or maybe dual modulators....the NTSC ch3/4 ones are dirt cheap -- »haywardm.com (Hayward's Key West)
