I use a router between my network and the DSL, so the systems inside my home see 192.168.0.1 as their gateway, which is just the LAN side of the router. The WAN side is the IP address issued dynamically by the ISP. So for me, anyway, the "WAN gateway" and WAN IP are the same.
The WAN IP is the IP that assigned by your ISP, which should not be the same as the WAN gateway aka Router's IP or Lan IP.

Added: the "WAN IP" can be obtained by browsing www.myipaddress.com
