No offense, but I'm throwing a flag on that one.

London and St Catherines draw well because they have successful teams (most of the time, but not all the time), but the reason that the Marlies don't draw well isn't because they have competition, but because the GTA has lots of Maple Leafs fans rather fans of hockey who follow Leafs. "If it ain't the Leafs, it ain't nuttin' and I ain't interested" is the sentiment that I seem to get. The Marlies are obviously a reasonably decent team, and it would give fans a chance to see "future Leafs" or, on seasons like this past one, a lot of players that they also see skating at the ACC because of injuries and the like. However, you have to be willing to settle for "the minors" or "junior hockey" and some people just won't do that ('cause they're dense, IMNSHO, as I've lost count of the number of players I've seen in the OHL/QMJHL that have gone on to the NHL).

The 67s weren't a great team this year and went out in four straight in the first round but there were still over 5000 for the home playoff games during the week. The 67s draw, on average, close to 7000 per game (sellout is 9862), the Olympiques (QMJHL) regularly fill or almost fill the Bob (4900) and the Senators sell out almost all their home games too (19500). In an average week during the winter, there will be at least one if not two Sens games, two 67s games and two Olympiques games. If people are hockey fans, there is always something going on.

In the GTA (not just downtown Toronto) if it ain't the Leafs, nobody cares.

Less than 2500 per game? For an AHL team? Geez, the average IceDogs attendance is 3100, and that's only because the arena sits 3000 people and they usually have a few hundred more who stand for the entire game.

I always have felt kind of sad for the team considering it's hard to go to other arena's and see a sellout, and come back home and get maybe 200-300 fans TOPS per night.

Was a REALLY good game to watch, I really don't know why I haven't watched them more, they are much more alive, much more into the game than the Leafs I have to say sadly, and they have some great players!
