| [HSI] Upstream Channel ID
Any techs know why the Upstream Channel ID would change while you are online (Send LED flashes a moment and then these entries appear in the modem logs).
2008-05-10 10:05:29 7-Information Channel Change Complete - Enabling Bridge 2008-05-10 10:05:26 7-Information Starting Ranging On Channel 1 2008-05-10 10:05:25 7-Information Upstream Channel Change Requested - Disabling Bridge
So it had been on channel 3 then the above and it chose channel 1. Later on I rebooted the modem and and it chose channel 3 again.
The signals were and are the same in both cases (at least as far as I can tell with the 1 minute interval I'm using with the Surfboard 5100/5120 Signal Monitor 1.1.0).
Oh and another question - what does it actually mean when it chooses a particular channel ID (I believe there can be 4 possible choices 1, 2, 3, 4)? Is it choosing a different Upstream Path? For instance could channel ID 1 have say 250 users and ID and ID 2 have say 150 users etc. etc.?
I know they just "split" my Upstream a few days ago and prior to that my US IP had been 1 for months. Is this at all related to that? |
