At least at one point there was a listing for "Virtual Local FAX Numbers", although I had only seen toll free numbers available during the beta testing phase.

[General] VOIPo Express plan - Inbound only

gbh2o : VOIPo Express service, the 'other' plan VOIPo is preparing to offer.

This is the latest information discussed in the VOIPo alpha/beta group, prices listed were tentative, and there were no setup fees projected to apply. All is subject to change, verification and/or correction by an official VOIPo representative [VOIPoTim and company] of course!

The service is Inbound only. Both toll free and local 'virtual number' DIDs are available, and cost $4.95/month when paid monthly, or $2.00/mo when prepaid annually. All DIDs may be forwarded to any destination PSTN within the U.S.A. or Canada, or to any SIP destination.

Toll free Numbers: The DID fee includes 100 inbound minutes per month, with overage at $.049/minute for calls forwarded to PSTN numbers. I am uncertain at this time about the costs for any overages on toll free inbound DIDs when forwarded to SIP addresses but I believe they will apply.

Local Numbers: The monthly DID charge includes 500 inbound minutes per month, with overage at $.019/minute for calls forwarded to PSTN numbers. “There are no additional charges to forward to SIP (even beyond the 500)....only for PSTN forwarding.” Each DID is individually uniquely identifiable as a source at the destination point(S). [ NOTE: This is an important contrast to the virtual numbers in the Residential plan for which no separately identifiable called origination number information is available, but is always identified as coming 'from' the primary number, mainly to prevent improper use of a residential-only account.]

FAX: Both toll free and local numbers are available for inbound fax, and cost $4.95/month when paid monthly, or $2.00/mo when prepaid annually. Either fax service includes 100 inbound faxes per month with a $.25 fee for additional faxes. Documents received are converted and emailed to you as a PDF file. Send Fax is also available for the Express account.

Just my opinion as an unpaid alpha/beta tester:

This is a really slick service for those PSTN-bound homes that just need low-to-normal(?) volume DID (or several ;-) ) for somewhere in the U.S.A. [at present]. It's even better for those already in the VoIP realm since “There are no additional charges to forward to SIP (even beyond the 500)....” for local DIDs. DID availability can be easily checked, and they may be instantly ordered from the displayed list. There are few frills that can be applied to these services.

Call quality has been superb in my experience. Availability and routing of the numbers works flawlessly and destinations are instantly changeable from the web customer interface. The FAX service is great for the home user that requires routine in and outbound faxing. It's easy to use, and convenient as heck.
