As in being able to use 1 of each in the same system? Yes. |

Will they run in the same system? Maybe. Probably.
Will they run in dual channel? Um, who knows. Probably not. |

I have three computers and each one has ONE of the Kingston sticks in it. If I add a G. Skill stick to the motherboard will they work together? -- This post printed on 100% recycled bytes |

| reply to jadinolf The correct answer is not "yes", but "maybe".
There is absolutely no guarantee that the SPD timings on two different manufacturers' products will be 100% identical. There are even examples of different revisions of the same product by the same manufacturer differing to the point where the modules do not work together. Corsair has history of doing this, and they use DRAM from well-known manufacturers.
To give you some idea of what I'm talking about (this isn't an exact replica of a potential situation, but it justifies what I'm saying):

Take my advice: buy the exact same memory made by the same vendor, and buy them at the same time. Do not mix-and-match memory, regardless of what PCxxxx speeds or DDRxxx speeds you see labelled on the package. That's just one aspect to memory which has to match. -- Making life hard for others since 1977. I speak for myself and not my employer/affiliates of my employer. |

| koitsu, thanks for the post. I am just so curious, I think I will just try one memory stick and see how it behaves. There is no urgency because I use XP and 1Gig of memory is more than enough for me. | reply to jadinolf Watch out for single-sided and double-sided RAM as well.
EDIT: The Kingston RAM is double-sided (16x chips) and the G.Skill seems to be as well - it should be fine. Don't worry about latency mismatch too much, I have sucessfully installed four different (in latency and brand) types of DDR RAM before and still had dual-channel working. |

| reply to jadinolf Didn't look @ the wordpress link, but the statement here was accurate. Always pays to use the same DDR sticks in a Rig, for sure. Takes the guess work and compatibility out of the picture, perhaps |
