If you have another network device, like a switch or router, try plugging the Dell into that. If the Dell still says "Network Cable Unplugged" then your onboard NIC may be bad. Try picking up a NIC for a few bucks at Circuit City and see if that fixes you up.
I have already tried that. Explained earlier in the thread. I thought the onboard NIC was bad. Bought a PCI NIC card and the same thing happened.
