Boo!

This happened to me when I tried installing Half Life 2 a couple years ago. I had no internet connection at the time, and a few days or weeks after the titles launch, there was already a 200 meg critical update. The game was unplayable, literally, even after the install. Critical parts, animations, music, maps, had to be DL'ed.

So what I did was DL a Myth copy, and was able to play the single player mode. I still play the same exact copy to this day if I'm feeling like seeing some Havok engine hilarity.
