And this would be a problem for who? Me text messaging my sister or daughter? I think not. They are targeting people involved in known criminal activity. Good for them.
Law enforcement needs to be able to counteract the tools the criminals are using today, this isn't 1970 anymore.

you do realize that any encryption method avaliabe to the public is also avilable to the government who BTW have the money, time, and resources to HACK IT.
the harder you try to hide the more intrest they will have in you. a pointless effort for those of that have nothing to hide.

Hide in plain site.
Draw attention to yourself and your actions, etc.. and you will be scrutinized.
Criminals IMO are going to use any means available to them to commit a criminal act so law enforcement should also employ any means to stop it.
