Issue with 4226 error

I just moved into an an apartment where the internet is provided by the complex. Running a file sharing program gave me error 4226 a few days ago after running Azereus for about 48 hours prior (and being active). I resorted to calling my complex who put me in contact with a guy from the internet provider and he told me that I had "overloaded the router" with my file sharing and it kicked me off the connection.

My question is this: Is there any general settings change I can do from my end that will control the amount of bandwidth I use so that I can continue to file share and not be booted off the complex internet? Or if I am booted off, is there a way I reconnect without calling the company? Thanks for any info you can give?

Error 4226 has you do with to many Half-open TCP connections (Windows XP sp2 and later can only have 10), most likely Azureus is set to allow more then 8 (Utorrents default which works good)

Look at this(»www.azureuswiki.com/index.php/UG···_options) mainly the part labeled "Advanced Network Settings"

and set "Max simultaneous outbound connections attempt" to 8 or less.

set "Max simultaneous outbound connections attempt" to 8 or less...
... or install the Lvllord'd fix to increase that limit to any number you want to bypass that stupid limitation on XP SP2 imposed by Microsoft.
