web sheild is what is slowuing things down . that is one reason don't use avg 8 , at least with avast you can turn it off with no warning about virus scanner vulnerable . besides firefox with noscript handles that

Lindale, TX		 You can disable AVG Safe Search in IE 7 or FF add ons, which disables all that stuff (ie. linkscanner) without the security warnings. And it works well!
