RM Map 2
Here is link 2. This one will be challenging due to the water and fresnel impact. Use vertical polarization and keep the antennas low enough to block the fresnel completely. There is likely to be significant fade on this link throughout the year, at times more than 20db. I would probably opt for the larger 6 foot dishes on this link to help compensate.

Jake, I really appreciate your valuable help. Believe me.

Regarding map # 1. If I have to make a taller tower we can. We can make a tower up to 60 meters height on the island side with no problems. Moving it to any other place is kind of difficult. However, we have another place where we can establish it (Lat: 11.5365 Long: 85.695139) and I guess it could work fine, but at the same time I think it may be more difficult to link my second target? (the challenging part that you said on link 2).

Now, with map #2 or link #2; yes I agree, there is a LOT of water between these two points. I’m thinking in using 2,4 GHz to do this point to point link as this is a client and not a backhaul link like in map#1?

Something that I wanted to share is that, when moving around the island I noticed that one of the oldest WISP companies here in Nicaragua are providing service to the island and these people are using 900 MHz equipments with horizontal antennas. However, their links are shorter (~20km) then the PtP link that I will have. I supposed these people have their POP in Rivas.

Best,

Margio.

Motorolas Orthagon product would be best for the shot where you have to deal with the water issue.
