| Fan on RB333
The concern has been raised that running two RB333's in one enclosure may cause temp problems. Each RB333 has two XR2 or XR5 cards. I am using the following enclosures:

If I run my RB333's off straight wall-wart power supplies will this further contribute to overheating?
I see repeated references of putting up to two fans on an RB333.
has anybody done this? Any advice, info, tutorial, fan model, etc would be appreciated. |

| I dont think the RB333 itself would generate substantial heat, but the XR cards will going full out.
I put a RB333 into an enclosure with 2 XR2 cards in it, and blew a small fan across the XR2 cards to circulate the heat, it doesnt remove the heat from the enclosure, it just prevents hotspots within the enclosure.
May not have been necessary? dont know. Its only been up in cold weather so far.
Run the board as close to the max voltage the board will take, this will further reduce heat on the onboard power supply and is more efficient. I run mine at 24 volts before losses in the cat5 runs. |

May I know what kind of fan you are using ? I have trouble looking for mini-fan that will accept 24V. |
