| WMP Question
Why does WMP create the files WMSDKNS.dtd and WMSDKNS.xml when you jump onto a stream??
You can delete the files after every use,so they clearly arent needed >>> why are they created?
Anyone know?? |

| You can open both files, the XML will open in a browser and the DTD is just a text file.
They both look like configuration files.
Likely these are just like any transient file created by many programs in that there is a default version stored in the program that is used to rebuild the file, and that this file is modified as you use the program to suit your particular system and saved so it doesn't have to be set the next time. -- I never though that we would end up here; When fascism comes as an angel of light; Its license parading as tyranny drives forth its son. |

You'll find a lot of good nuts-and-bolts information about how Windows Media Player is set up to access the Internet on your machine, and what kinds of things it can do, through a little careful perusal of this file.

I'd much rather have it written to a small file than written to the registry. -- "Wisdom and Knowledge shall be the stability of thy times" |
