| isohunt.com adware
I was visiting isohunt today with internet explorer (yes I know, bad idea, but the forums dont work half the time in anything but IE) and an ad or something on the site there totally infected my computer with adware.
now i'm stucking getting rid of awola and other baddies, which btw locks you out of regedit, task manager, and many other administrative programs, and runs in normal and safe mode.
so don't use IE to browse isohunt.com |

| Mininova got hit with a malvertizement as well the other day. That one, a banner ad for Neilsen/NetRatings NetPanel, redirected to xponlinescanner.com, a known fraudware/scareware site similar to WinFixer and its ilk: »msmvps.com/blogs/spywaresucks/ar···896.aspx It appears to be dead now, but has had a history of coming back, even after the admins banned the ad domains responsible for the redirects.
An up to date hosts file (such as WinHelp2002's MVPS one or HPGuru's) is one of the best defenses against these rogue redirects.
In your case, I think a visit to »Security Cleanup is in order. -- "The trouble with computers, of course, is that they are very sophisticated idiots." - Doctor Who (from Robot)
