 XP Pro SP3 rollout experiences?

Today is question day for me I guess.

For those who have done so, what's been your experience with SP3 rollouts to your client PCs? There appears to be more than the usual patch consolidation in this service pack. Did it go well?

I have SAV CE 10.x AV on most, AVG Pro AV on a couple of others.

I have rolled it out to 10% of the XP computers here. I haven't had any problems so far. I will wait a few days and let it go out to 50% and see how that goes.

I have rolled it out on two virtual machines (One Virtual PC, One Virtual Server) and a normal desktop. I have had no issues at this time.

My IT group has decided to monitor it and if there are no problems by Thursday, start pushing it through WSUS.

These machines include the same antivirus that you are noting.

I just pushed it out via WSUS and about 40% of our machines are currently updated and have had no reported problems yet.

I have approximately 100 desktops/laptops that will be getting SP3 over the next few days.

I did it via windows update on my VMware XP Pro and it nuked it pretty bad, had to roll back. This was last week Wednesday. I have not tried it since.

YMMV.

No problems other than having to re-install IE7

Have it on 4 desktops and two laptops so far. No issues.

Bunch of sales guys are bringing their laptops in... same model laptops, so we'll roll it out to them while they are involved with their sales meetings this week.

I'll slowly put it to a few more PC's here and there.

I put it on my home PC as well. I had to repatch the uxtheme.dll file for unsigned themes. I also had to hex edit my termserv.dll file to allow concurrent remote desktop sessions again. Besides that, no issues so far.

No problems here. Done about a dozen desktops so far. All older (4-5 years) hardware.
