Re: [Speed Problem] Good Enough to Go Back to 3.0?

It's getting late on Monday. The line usually improves considerably in the afternoon. The latest stats are:

140 Current Rate 1984 512
141 Previous Rate 0 0
142 DSL Max Rate - -
143 DSL Min Rate - -
144 Current ATTN DR 5472 960
145 Current SNRM 16.0 16.0
146 Current LATN 47.0 31.0
147 Current SATN - -
148 Current TP 12.7 6.8

I read the description on the procedure and noticed a possible problem being the surge protector. I didn't even know there was a DSL rated protector. I have a power conditioner in the same closet as the DSL adaptor. I can plug it into it to see if it improves the situation. The last time I looked at the power conditioner the input voltage was 126 and out was 119. My power isn't the best. The UPS on the computer will switch on from time to time. I just took two more outages while typing. The latest stats are:

140 Current Rate 1984 512
141 Previous Rate 0 0
142 DSL Max Rate - -
143 DSL Min Rate - -
144 Current ATTN DR 2336 608
145 Current SNRM 6.0 10.0
146 Current LATN 51.0 31.0
147 Current SATN - -
148 Current TP 18.8 11.8

I plugged the DSL Adaptor into my power conditioner and got the following readings:

140 Current Rate 1984 512
141 Previous Rate 0 0
142 DSL Max Rate - -
143 DSL Min Rate - -
144 Current ATTN DR 6336 928
145 Current SNRM 15.0 16.0
146 Current LATN 47.0 30.0
147 Current SATN - -
148 Current TP 7.9 7.4

The uplink speed is the best I've seen so far. I'll wait a few days before before I get hopeful.

The surge protector wasn't it. It was up for about an hour and a half and then took quick two outages. The latest numbers are:

140 Current Rate 1536 512
141 Previous Rate 0 0
142 DSL Max Rate - -
143 DSL Min Rate - -
144 Current ATTN DR 2208 608
145 Current SNRM 6.0 9.0
146 Current LATN 51.0 31.0
147 Current SATN - -
148 Current TP 18.8 11.8

Just lost it trying to post. Now the numbers are:

140 Current Rate 1536 480
141 Previous Rate 0 0
142 DSL Max Rate - -
143 DSL Min Rate - -
144 Current ATTN DR 1536 480
145 Current SNRM 1.0 6.0
146 Current LATN 52.0 31.0
147 Current SATN - -
148 Current TP 18.1 11.8

It's almost fun watching the numbers jump all over the place.
