| [OC] GA-P35-DS3L/E8400 3.0Ghz WOLFDALE/4GB G.SKILLF2-8500CL5D
Looking for some basic OC Settings for the subject hardware. I have stock cooling but I understand the the Wolfdale CPU runs cooler than others so I'm thinking I might be able to squeeze a little out of it. I'm also using a EVGA 512-P3-N801-AR for My Video. I thinking there might be someone here that has a similar setup. Thanks, Bob |

I have the same motherboard and have gotten my E2180 to 3.2Ghz. While I understand it's not the same as your rig, it may help a little?
Advanced BIOS Features: CPU Enhanced Halt (C1E) [Disabled] CPU Thermal Monitor 2(TM2) [Disabled] CPU EIST Function [Disabled]
MB Intelligent Tweaker(M.I.T.) CPU Clock Ratio (Note) [10X] CPU Host Clock Control [Enabled] x CPU Host Frequency (Mhz) 320 PCI Express Frequency (Mhz) [100] Performance Enhance [Standard] System Memory Multiplier (SPD) [Manual] (mine is set to 2.5 as it gives me 800 on my RAM)
System Voltage Control [Manual] CPU Voltage Control [1.30]

| reply to bfoster2000 I have the DS4 and the same CPU.
I disabled the same things as Ken Peterson except for thermal monitor - just in case.
CPU Clock Ratio - 9.0x CPU Host Frequency - 400 (3.6GHz) Performance Enhance - Standard System Memory Multiplier 2.50 (1000MHz) Set the CPU voltage manually to the default of 1.225v for now.
My 1066MHz RAM will not go over that speed even a tiny bit, so I cannot use 1:1 ratios at 400 FSB. I tried to keep my RAM as close to 1066 as possible while upping the FSB - keeps the complexity down so you can track what might cause any instability. Later you can try to OC your RAM as well, if you want to.
When you find your preferred stable over clock you can try to turn Performance Enhance to something other than Standard once you have everything how you want it, but it may interfere with your OC.
I also Enabled EIST once I was stable - helps keep the system cool when idle. I also lowered my vcore to 1.20xxx, remaining stable, in an effort to keep things cooler.
I'm pretty sure I can go higher than 3.6GHz, but I haven't tried to yet. -- Ha ha haaaaaaa....ever get the feeling you've been cheated?
