[OOL] Wireless?

So I plan on purchasing a XBOX 360 Wireless adapter and I was wondering if my WebStar DPX2203 modem supports Wi-Fi or any wireless feature or do I need to buy a wireless router. Thanks.

You need a wireless router as well

Do you have any router you would recommend specifically?

Linksys WRT54G is a widely used router. I have had no problems with it. I've been using one for the past 4 years.

I agree on the Linky, but make sure you get the WRT54GL. Current non "L" G/GS models are stripped down versions of what the popular models were 1-2 years ago. The GL is the last in the line of Linux/open source units.

The current G routers (version 5 and up) use (I believe) VxWorks and are not easily flashable to third-party software. They also don't have as much memory (ROM and RAM). For those interested in advanced features and the ability to tweak the router this is a problem.

G routers pre-version 5 also use the Linux based firmware, have more memory and can be purchased pretty cheap on eBay, etc. I bought a version 3 for $25 including S/H.

The GL routers sold by Linksys cost $15-$20 more than their G counterparts. I believe the standard version 5 and higher WRT54G uses VxWorks.

Here's a good article comparing the various WRT54 lines: »en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WRT54G

I also suggest after getting aquainted with the router, read up on how to flash it with custom firmware, such as DD-WRT.
