I have the DS4 and the same CPU.
I disabled the same things as Ken Peterson except for thermal monitor - just in case.
CPU Clock Ratio - 9.0x CPU Host Frequency - 400 (3.6GHz) Performance Enhance - Standard System Memory Multiplier 2.50 (1000MHz) Set the CPU voltage manually to the default of 1.225v for now.
My 1066MHz RAM will not go over that speed even a tiny bit, so I cannot use 1:1 ratios at 400 FSB. I tried to keep my RAM as close to 1066 as possible while upping the FSB - keeps the complexity down so you can track what might cause any instability. Later you can try to OC your RAM as well, if you want to.
When you find your preferred stable over clock you can try to turn Performance Enhance to something other than Standard once you have everything how you want it, but it may interfere with your OC.
I also Enabled EIST once I was stable - helps keep the system cool when idle. I also lowered my vcore to 1.20xxx, remaining stable, in an effort to keep things cooler.
I'm pretty sure I can go higher than 3.6GHz, but I haven't tried to yet. -- Ha ha haaaaaaa....ever get the feeling you've been cheated?
