Re: Spygate

The NFL tried to sweep the problem under the rug, and tried to keep Matt Walsh from coming forward with anything he knows about cheating by videotaping (or other means). It's a sport watched by millions, it's supposed to be an athletic contest where the outcome is determined on the field. If a team can cheat, get discovered, and have most of what they did covered up by the league, it raises the issue of whether it's more like professional wrestling than like a fair athletic contest. That would affect the NFL's broadcast license. That's why a Senator is involved.

Oh please, Walsh is a tool, literally and figuratively.

We now know that Walsh has nothing new to add. No tape of the 2002 Rams "walk through". Perhaps, rather than a cover up, the League realized that Walsh was a tool and had nothing new and that's why Goodell wasn't exited to meet with him. Walsh, was also the one delaying things as I understand it. Trying to get some guarantee that he wasn't going to get sued for defamation.

This whole story was so overblown from the word go that it's sad. Bill Belichick was found to have violated NFL rules on videotaping opposing teams signals. He was fined $500,000 for chrissake and the Pats were fined $250,000 and a first round draft pick.

The End!

...and they lost the Super Bowl in a karma of the sporting kind.

Though there is no evidence of a tape, Walsh did admit that he watched the Rams' walkthrough, then went to the coaching staff and described what he saw, with an emphasis on how the Rams were using their tight ends.

The Patriots are lying, cheating scum and nearly everyone that's a football fan outside of Boston is going to hate them for a long time.

Source your shit out, and get it straight. Also, get it in context.

While there was no tape of the walk-through, Walsh provided some inside information that might have been beneficial to the Patriots. So what. Everybody that's a football fan outside of New England that's not a Pat's fan hated them already. We, don't care!

My question to the whiners and criers is what was/is the excuse for everyone losing to the Pat's in the entire regular season, last year? Hmmm? Because Spygate, Scapegoat™ wasn't a valid one.

Whatever,
Mike

And here I thought I was making points to an objective observer, not a rabid 'my team or bust' excuse maker.

The Pats are dirty. Ranting in a forum won't make it better.

They went undefeated last season cause that was their best team ever... even without the Superbowl that team was easily the best team they ever fielded... but without the spygate they couldn't win a superbowl with their best team how shitty is that

No where near as "shitty" as NEVER WINNING A SUPERBOWL, like the Eagles.
