I read through what they gave and used the built in help. I'm probably missing it, but what do the different colors in the guide mean? -- /chown -R us:us /yourbase |

I'm fairly certain that's their intended purpose; however, given the wacky data used/displayed by the IMG, it wouldn't surprise me if colors are just as inaccurate as some of the program listings |

| reply to Trel As best as I can tell...
- Reddish brown: Full length movies, network or premium - Blue: Info news, network news, network programming, other "normal" programming - Green: Special or local news, some network news (PBS, BBC, CNN, etc), paid programming (infomercials) - Olive green: Sports related, PPV events
The above is my interpretation and not anything I've read anywhere (YMMV). -- Never raise your hands to your kids. It leaves your groin unprotected. -- Red Buttons |

| That promo doesn't say what colors are what, we have never actually found anything that mentions it. CeeZee brought this up awhile back also, but we never got a full response. I'll also add to Rattler's list: Orange for kids shows. |

I posted the screenshot only to verify that the color-coding was intentional as that was also in question previously. If I knew what the color codes were supposed to indicate, I'd post that too |

| reply to matcarl Hmmm...
To be perfectly honest, I haven't seen Orange, especially since I don't go near those offerings (no sex or gratuitous violence )... Nor did I look since reading your post (but I will). And... My "kid" is beyond looking at those shows by a couple decades (maybe her wee one will be ready in a year or so). -- Never raise your hands to your kids. I read that when I searched, but I have to disagree as I saw Spongebob in Red and Blue :\ |

I wouldn't have noticed it had you not made mention of it and there were not a movie and kid's program listed close enough together to make the comparison. -- Never raise your hands to your kids. It leaves your groin unprotected. -- Red Buttons |

And I'm pretty sure the hues of the red and "olive" they picked are nearly impossible for red/green colorblind folks to discern any difference too. |

| I would say for the most part that the colors are to merely make it easier to simply read the guide by breaking it up and visually more appealing and not monotonous or monotone.
There may be some underlying code for sports vs premium vs new vs old etc but its not readily apparent.
I for one like that the colors are different as it makes things stand out and not bleed together. |
