why the 512 limit? why not let us use our bandwidth? this is terrible!

Because a very small percentage of users will drag everyones speeds into the dumper when they download/upload all those files.

If you want unlimited newsgroups try Giganews (»www.giganews.com/)

The limit actually isn't that bad and I am usually able to max it out.2 Mbps is pretty good for a free service. Do you use the newsgroups robertfl?
