I don't get it. Shriyash is right, they already control a number of the root servers. If they wanted to DDOS someone all they would have to do is resolve a whole bunch of URL's to the IP of anyone they wanted to shut down. They could scale the size of the attack by how many addresses they change. I don't understand why they would bother with a botnet. If they really wanted to crush someone, they could resolve all porn site addresses to the hapless fools that crossed them.  |
