| [Business] SMC 8014 and a Cisco 3640
Hello all. I hope someone can help me with what I would like to try and setup.
I have Comcast Business here at the house cause I'm running Small Business Server 2003 R2 Standard hosting email, web, etc. I have gotten Comcast to assign a single static IP assignment.
My current configuration is having the SMC 8014 do basic port forwarding to the server IP address. This is working well to a point.
The problem I'm seeing is that there are some bots out there in the cloud that are attempting to hack OWA and this is showing up in the event viewer some umpteen thousands of times... Also, the spam from outside the country is starting to get ridiculous.
So here is my proposed plan. Put the one of my Cisco 3640s behind the SMC and have ACLs setup to drop the packets I see fit.
How do I go about putting the SMC into bridge mode?
Is there a basic Cisco config I can put on the router to get basic connectivity in and out without blocking anything? I'll lock it down after I know everything communicates properly.
