Custom-shmustom, it's a friggin' fan. If you get the right voltage and size and the CFM is the same or more, you really don't have anything to worry about.

I'd head on over to the electronics forum here, they're going to know good sources.

Look for as close a replacement as you can find (voltage, power, pulse lead). You are unlikely to find something as powerful as the Cisco fan but you should be able to find something that will do.

Looks like 12V, but they have a 5V option as well. It appears to be a 3 lead fan (power + tach). If you can get the rest of the model number, you can also find the CFM. At that point you're just shopping for:

-5V
-40x40x20
-includes a tach lead
-? CFM

That is going to be a very easy find.

That's what I did and I can't seem to find it anywhere. I found the company that makes them. But I couldn't find where to buy them.

It's made by JMC. The model# is 4020. For Cisco company itself, they have warehouses by major airports that store hardware replacements (at least in the US). Everytime a customer needs hardware replacement of any kind, there will be delivery guy (either the non-technical one from shipping courier like FedEx or the technical one from Cisco themselves) to bring in the replacement from one of those warehouses to the customer premise.

As for Cisco resellers, they may have their own independent warehouses to store hardware replacements. Those hardware replacements come from non-working devices such as your router to salvage.
