Crack it open, look at the model number on the fan and google it. You'll find it for sale somewhere... |

It's made by JMC. The model# is 4020. It's a 40mm X 40mm X 20mm, and is DC 5 volt. |

| OK, here's the manufacturer's page:

Looks like 12V, but they have a 5V option as well. It appears to be a 3 lead fan (power + tach). If you can get the rest of the model number, you can also find the CFM. At that point you're just shopping for:
-5V -40x40x20 -includes a tach lead -? CFM
That is going to be a very easy find.
Probably very close: »www.buyextras.com/ev40x40x20dc.html |

| From experience I can tell you that some fans are made specifically for Cisco. If I remember correctly (and I may well not!) the 1760 uses the same fan as the 2950 switch and you can't buy these.
Look for as close a replacement as you can find (voltage, power, pulse lead). You are unlikely to find something as powerful as the Cisco fan but you should be able to find something that will do. |

I'll keep searching. |

Custom-shmustom, it's a friggin' fan. If you get the right voltage and size and the CFM is the same or more, you really don't have anything to worry about.
I'd head on over to the electronics forum here, they're going to know good sources.
Off the top of my head, I'd say if you can't find it at Mouser, I'll eat my shoe.

Is there anything more to the part number after the 4020? Do you have a picture you can post? |
