My family is also having a similar problem. We've got the Motorola 2210 modem and a Linksys WRT54G router. Our connection is regularly dropped. It just started recently, within the past two weeks or so. We upgraded the router last Christmas and Bellsouth/AT&T sent us a Motorola modem as a free upgrade to replace our Westell two or three months ago, but it's worked fine until now. We've got a dedicated phone line for the connection.
Nothing on our end caused this to happen, AFAIK.
The Motorola modem was pretty hot, so we assumed that it was a hardware failure. Bellsouth/AT&T sent us a replacement, but it also gets hot and we've got the same issue.
So far, we've been fixing it by unplugging the router and modem, then plugging them back in a few minutes later. |
