We have a new friend at work that visits every morning. We all have our cars parked where we can see them now. (he will get off your car if you have a broom). He likes to try and intimidate his reflection every morning around 10:15 like clockwork.

He's awesome when not on your car. He REALLY damaged that van that he was on.

I looked after he was gone. It looked okay.

Spray some water at a bird with a 5-6 foot wingspan and talons. Ummm...pass, but I'd like to see some video of you doing it.

On a related note: I was walking to work last week when I heard one of the peregrine falcons that nest at the top of a hotel a couple of blocks from my place. It took a minute to find it, but it was perched on the top corner of an office tower. Their shriek makes the hairs on the back of your neck stand on end but it also makes the pigeons scarce.

that's amazing!
Isn't it a bit unusual to see them like this though?

Also, is it me or are there more of these birds around lately?
I've lived in pretty much the same area for the last 21 years (Erin Mills) & I've only really seen them in the last 7 or 8 years.

wow I've never seen one do that before. Cheeky bugger! I think we're seeing so many now because of the insane construction in our areas lately.

Peregrine Falcons have made an amazing recover over the last 10 years. When DDT was banned, the Peregrine was one of the main reasons, as it almost killed off the species.

Being a bird that likes to nest high up on cliffs or large trees, the city sky scrappers are an ideal habitat. In fact, smaller birds such as Sky Rats (pigeons) are an ideal food.

I will admit, their claws will destroy your paint job... there are companies that will help you scare them off if needed.

Most likely it's around due to the season and hopefully will move off in a few days.

Speaking of birds of prey...

There is a single Bald Eagle family nesting near Hamilton. My boss has been there and told me they look amazing. A female sitting in a nest, and the male always near by.

Apparently, it's the first nesting in this area in almost 60 years. DDT wiped them out around here as well.

First three are with canon digital rebel xti, the last shot is with my kodak point and shoot. (didn't have the other camera that day). There is a bit of noise in the dslr pics as it was really dark and shady outside and I had to crank the ISO.

Looks like you work near the highway in a large golden horseshoe city.

Looks to me like your right beside that Home Depot near the Canoe/Outdoor store, am I close?

I think I'm close. What car is yours in the picture?

Whose up for some regular stalking and not just the standard cyber stalking? I can go until six pm and then the wife starts to wonder what I'm up to.
