You very likely would have to call Microsoft at the time you wish to active if their records show three existing activations; but the explanation of either of the facts -- it was uninstalled, or the installed instance is on a no longer functioning computer, would suffice.
--
============
MS-MVP 2004 - -2008, ASAP Member
Users Helping Users

Couple of question about Office license

anon : Hi everybody,

I recently bought a 3-user license of Office Home/Student. I just have a couple of questions:

1. It came with a COA code on the top of the box and a product code inside the box. I understand the product code inside the box is what I will use to activate Office...so what is the COA code used for?

2. With the 3-user license does it mean as long as I am not using it on more than 3 PC's AT ONE TIME then it is okay? Or does it mean I can only install it on 3 PC's ever?
---Meaning if I install on 3 PC's in my house today and one PC either breaks down or I replace it can I use the a license on the new PC since the old PC would not be used anymore?

Thanks for reading.
