Any WRT54GL (emphasis on the L) should work just fine, but they're selling only the newest one these days (v1.1) which is what we did all our testing on. Literally, we tested on three of them. |

1 edit | reply to Guspaz Ok got this all setup was using pfsense so all I needed to do was switch cables when ready to try the mlppp setup.. Ok trying it now and web pages are stalling ie slower to load but not all. and any Broadband speedtests are stalling too givin me horrid results. Mind you from what I see on the torrent side the speed is there. I am thinking it might have something to do with mtu? Cause in a single link my speed is back to normal same as web page responsiveness. As jay Said there was no issues in that area u guys detected. Any thoughts? I will leave it on no mlppp for now. Btw using single mlppp atm.
New speed test under no mlppp setup. No changes to router etc other then turning off mlppp with mtu at 1492

| reply to codecx said by codecx :+1 ^ I got my 2 modems in the WRT54GL, and my WRVS4400N WAN port, hooked up to one of its LAN ports. Disabled the wireless & the firewall on the WRT54GL, my WRVS4400N is going to handle all the wireless, DHCP, firewall etc. Anyone know where to get a nice cheap Speedstream 5360 in Toronto? glad to hear. that's what i want to do as well. i'm sure i have an extra 5360 lying around somewhere.
guspaz, any chance this firmware would work on a linksys 350n?? haha, probably not but i happen to have one sitting around not doing anything where as i'll have to go buy a gl. |

Please advise if/when you've found a solution. |

1 edit | reply to Guspaz For those who can't access their modems anymore, replace vlan1 with br1. It works on my ST516/WRT54GL setup.
Use these lines for a modem on 192.168.1.254: ip addr add 192.168.1.1/24 dev br1 brd + /usr/sbin/iptables -I POSTROUTING -t nat -o br1 -d 192.168.1.0/24 -j MASQUERADE
And these to access the modem at 10.0.0.138: ip addr add 10.0.0.10/24 dev br1 brd + /usr/sbin/iptables -I POSTROUTING -t nat -o br1 -d 10.0.0.0/24 -j MASQUERADE
Firmware and UI are great, thanks a lot Guspaz & DSL_Ricer! |

1 edit | Radar73.. I have it on auto as 1442 using a single link mlppp and it's still stalling and giving very poor results in speedtests. I use the speedtests as they are a excellent indicator if there is a problem where it shows the stalling the most. I am gonna try a different system on wireless side with the single link mlppp on just to eliminate that system or any possible issues.
P.s I am using the Wrt54GL 1.1
Btw thanks again to Guzpaz and Dslricer for this fix not only will u save me throttling headaches but Hydro/electricity as well.
Adding on my quick test from a newer wireless laptop. With mtu of 1442 and single mlppp on. Weird eh. Get different results everytime.

| reply to morisato said by morisato :Anyone Know if i purchase a wrt54gl router is there a possibility of an incompatible version? or do all of those ones work? kinda concerned with Online ordering from Canadacomps :0 and getting a non compliant model. All WRT54GL routers are good for Tomato. From Tomato's site:
If it's not listed above, and it's not a WRT54GL, it's not supported.

1 edit | reply to Guspaz Thanks Guspaz and DSL_Ricer for providing this firmware.
Just flashed it on my WRT54GL v1.1 and it works great. However, I'm a Velcom customer and not a Teksavvy customer and I don't even know if Velcom supports MLPPP but it connects anyway.
I was already using tomato 1.17 prior to this and whatever this firmware did, it actually improved my speed tests a tiny bit. I could never get over 4150 but now I get 4274 or so. Small improvement but an improvement nonetheless. Must be the MTU change |

said by Reimer :Must be the MTU change Actually, no. If you're using the MLPPP Single Link MTU, for regular PPPoE, then it should be performing 0.3% slower than the 1492 MTU and 0.4% worse than optimal.... |
