She did get away from the group and (allegedly) turned the car around, driving right at them at 30 mph. Common sense to me says she could've kept driving. It is very hard, reading the news articles, to get a clear picture of what happened in this case. I can't tell if she was maliciously trying to hurt someone, or if people were jumping on her vehicle and she was scared and trying to escape.
