Strangest DC Problem Ever

OK..

So one of my DC's in another site goes down...Checking, everything.

Run DCDIAG, problems with machine account
Netdiag problems with DNS.

Ok start looking around... Find that the machine account in the DC Ou is GONE...

Find a workstation there instead?
Any reason how this could happen? The machine did not have the same ip address.. the are on different subnets..

Any idea, Malware, virus? Wonky windows issue?

**Update**

For some reason this computer was trusted for delegation?

i have no idea why could this cause an issue?

maybe someone else gave delegation to the wrong machine...?

You said that you found it to be a regular workstation, right...?

if so this is certainly a problem since when the primary goes doodoo, the trusted machine gets in charge of whatever task, but it doesnt have any of the apps installed..

Yeah, I have no idea who would have delegated that machine... But I should have looked at it before plugging it in...But the DC never went down.. it got knocked off.
