Well, if you MMO experience is Runescape, I would not recommend Eve as your first real MMO, well, let me rephrase that...I would not recommend Eve if you wish to expand upon your Runescape experience. If you want a totally new and different MMO experience, try Eve.
Eve is a sci-fi MMO and can be extremely complicated.
Between AoC and EQ2, I recommend EQ2. AoC is new and will have some bugs to work out for a few months, all new games do. EQ2 has been out for awhile, not alot of bugs to worry about and a pretty big player base. I played EQ2 for about 18 months (taking a spring break from it). It's got alot of zones and you can solo. If you want a more mature crowd, I've found that the RP servers are the places to be.
